Our company name, FuzzyBIT, derives from two separate words, each with a special meaning.

The word fuzzy denotes something that is vague, ambiguous or uncertain. In Artificial Intelligence terms, however, is often encountered in the decription of the ability of an element to belong in multiple sets, instead of one. This theory is known as Fuzzy Logic.

Fuzzy logic provides us with the foundations, upon which we can characterize objects, conditions or properties of unclear boundaries. In other words, we are able to classify an element not only in a single category (e.g. black or white), but in many, given it belongs to each one by some percentage (e.g. 30% white AND 70% black).  This interesting approach creates a whole new way of modern reasoning (based on the shades of grey!) with great possibilities and many applications in real life.

The initials B.I.T., on the other hand, stand for Business Intelligence Technologies, while at the same time compose the word BIT, which is the lowest linguistic element in machine language.
